Design Inspiration | A Vermont Barn Designed by Gil Schafer

If you've followed my blog for any length of time you know that my all time favorite architect and interior designer is Gil Schafer. His books are the most loved and used in my design library and where I turn first when I'm stuck on a space.  I pretty much devour any new work of his and this Vermont barn featured in the Nov/Dec issue of Veranda Magazine was no exception.

It was built for a large family as a place to host extended gatherings and celebrate holidays.  It is warm, cozy and full of soul, just like all Gil's homes.  I shared a few pictures on Instagram this morning but I wanted to capture them in a blog post too, so I can return again when I'm in need of an inspiration pick me up.

Here is a link to the full feature in Veranda's website.

Thanksgiving Outfit Ideas

Thanksgiving is right around the corner!  I've been thinking about table settings and menu ideas, even though we tend to stick to the family favorites.  I found some pretty napkins while we were in France and plan to use them on our table. It will be a small Thanksgiving this year since my brother and his family aren't coming into town.  I plan to keep things pretty causal and cozy.

Sometimes I like to buy something new to wear for the holidays, so I popped into the mall this week and was a bit disappointed by what I found. There just wasn't a whole lot of choices and I left feeling uninspired. So...I started looking online - much easier and many more options.  I mentally put together some outfit inspiration and thought I'd share it with you, since you all seem to like the occasional fashion mixed in with design, travel and recipes. Everything  is causal and comfy and something I would wear on Thanksgiving or any other day in the fall.
