Kitchen | Lighting Options

Our kitchen makeover is moving at a snail's pace, wait, no, that implies it is indeed moving, no, I'd say it has been at a bit of a stand still.  Part of the reason is I haven't had the time or motivation to really begin.  Another part is I promised myself to start living on a budget.  I haven't been doing too well on that front either.  Too many cute clothes, fabrics, lamp shades etc. out there each day tempting me.  Curse you, pinterest!!  This week though, I'm calling to schedule the carpenter for the shelves and our painters for the cabinets.  Here are the colors I've decided on {I think}...

farrow + ball pointing on cabinets

farrow + ball off white no. 3 on walls

Even though, occasionally, I'll come across painted cabinets in a different shade and reconsider...

But then I'll see
a pretty creamy white and I'm back on board again...

So, onto lighting....

I'm going to replace the hanging lanterns over my island with two brass pendants.
I've narrowed it down to 3 choices.
I have a favorite. but would love to get your vote.
So here they are...

Option No. 1

Option No. 2

Option No. 3

all lighting from Circa

ok, kindly cast your ballots now...
thank you!! :)

  1. I think I am going to go with option 1. Option 2 is a very close second but I feel like it can almost look too industrial. You have such a classic New England style that I think option 1 suits you.

  2. I agree with the previous comment. Option 1 seems more like what you would have. Plus, it isn't seen as much as the others in what everyone is doing.
Whatever you decide though, and how you put it all together, will be as warm and charming as the rest of your house!

  4. Agree with all of the above! They're all beautiful, but there's just something timeless and elegant about option 1. The structure and lines of the pendant are gorgeous.

  8. I vote option #1. I love it!!! I can't wait to see your transformation. I'm probably gonna wanna start all over when I see yours! I try so, so hard to be on a spending freeze, but I too am so tempted.

  10. Hahaha...looks like everyone agrees! You don't see that much. I too, like number 1. They are all great, but number 1 seems to have a little something different than what you are seeing in everyone else's kitchens right now. The one thing I can't believe is that I am starting to like BRASS again!!!! That's something I wasn't expecting after living through the 70's. LOL!

  12. Love the scale of pendant number one! Seems like it's just the right balance of "look at me" and still being able to see the whole space! Beautiful choices . . . It will be so pretty and fresh and soft and classic . . .

  15. UGH! all are so beautiful!! I recently redid my kitchen and it took me foreveeeveeerr to choose just the right lighting. Anyways, I'm leaning more towards no. 1. Just because of how timeless they really are. Love no.2 and no.3, but in say 5 years, you might not be so keen on the industrial look.

Also, my second choose is no.3

    good luck :)

  20. Hello,

I like them all but my favorite is no. 3. It looks like I'm so far the only one that likes no. 3. It's small in size and it I think it will match with your New England style.. Coming from a New England Coastal town I have seen the no. 3 in many friends kitchens. It won't take away from all of your other fun features that will be in your kitchen. Can't wait to see more. Also love the color scheme. Great pics! Take care, Claudia

I have option 1 in my house in antique nickel. We get so many compliments. You're going to love these pendants!

  29. Totally like the "angular-ness" of option 1. Just the right sparkle for a creamy white tone on tone kitchen.
