A Country Cottage

I simply adore this little cottage.
From Canadian House & Home
It's cozy but well edited.
The dark floors, the slips, the striped cushions, the well placed antiques.

The glass front built-ins were added by the home owners.
Of course she is a designer. Of course!
I love when something new looks original.

  2. Going to Ikea was like wandering through a warehouse filled to the brim ~ talk about sensory overload!

Love the photos ... so homey except there are no piles of anything to be found anywhere :) A goal of mine this week!

  4. Love, love this space! But, are you sure the cabinets are Ikea? In the write-up it says "Custom cabinets painted white contrast nicely with dark-stained pine floors."

  5. Yes, the white uppers are from IKEA!! The stainless bottoms may be custom though, not sure. They had did have custom moldings put in above the white cupboards too. Crazy, right?! :)

  7. I love, love, love that kitchen! IKEA always has the best looking kitchens but I don't know that I'd have the patience to a) pick it all out at the store and then b) put it together. We don't live close enough for them to install it but I'm guessing that'd be the only way to go.

  10. Love it all! I love how you said "it's new but looks original" that's the goal with my dream/forever home. I want new construction with the character and charm of an older home. Now, just how do I acheive that? I think looking at these photos for inspiration is a good start! Have a great 4th weekend!

  13. The living room in the first photo makes me think I will just leave our new floors bare...we live in a warm climate and this is easy to keep clean. Great photos.
