I know, "smitten" really rhymes with "kiTTen", and not "kitCHen."
Indulge me, if you will. :)
I'll be the first to say that, for me, when it comes to kitCHens,
white cabinets reign supreme.
But this gray one has me reconsidering.
In the next year or so I'd like to give our kitchen a little face lift.
Not a remodel, but a little pick me up.
Things I'd like to copy from this one:
1. painted cabinets
2. open shelves
3. contrasting painted island
4. horizontal planks instead of tile for a backsplash - so great with our colonial farmhouse
And do I spy a Dutch door too?
Those just make me happy!
Featured in this month's Southern Living.
My only complaint is I want MORE and BIGGER pictures!!
Please.
This home is in Atlanta, but it comes as no surprise that its owners,
and their style, hail from New England.
The Benjamin Moore colors they used were:
Love, Love, Love that last image! PS. You got 5 cool points for knowing the story behind my brother's kleenex box shoes! You must be an Office lover like us - Can't believe Michael is gone! So sad!
ReplyDeleteI love that look too. I want to redo/update my kitchen in the near future too but I can't decide at what length I want to go. Elizabeth said you were using Holly Mathis. You'll have to let me know how that goes. Was that for your kitchen or another project?
ReplyDeletesounds like we both have the same dream kitchen! Can't wait to see what you do to yours!

I really like the colors in this kitchen, and the plates above the range. The island is pretty great too.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great day Tessa!

revere pewter is one of my constant go-tos for a great grayed-neutral for walls. looks great in living rooms too! and i do love me some gray kitchens...i did one recently and used the color silver song by BM, which is also the color of my office walls. warm grays=fabulous neutrals
ReplyDeleteI'm right there with you on this. I, too, am a white kitchen girl but have seen some beautiful gray or light sage cabinets lately that make me re-consider. My mom has white cabinets w/ a light sage island and it's really pretty. Our kitchen is in dire need of demolition - so I'm having a hard time deciding whether to do some band-aids now or just wait and do a massive redo later. I'll just keep playing the lottery.
ReplyDeleteThat is such a beautiful kitchen. Many copy worthy details. Your trip also sounds like so much fun. Sun would be so welcome here! Hope your having a great day!
ReplyDeleteI love the gray cabinets!
ReplyDeleteYour getaway in Vegas looked awesome. You and your husband are such a cute couple!
I've been thinking about repainting my island a contrasting color... Just don't know what color!!! Maybe I'll do this in the summertime!
ReplyDeleteConsider me jealous in advance .... open shelving .... greys .... contrasting colored island ..... horizontal planks ....
ReplyDeleteWhen am I moving in? Thanks.
It's a good thing I love my kitchen as is because you've got me drooling! You have such a fabulous eye for beauty!

I'm all about light and bright these days. Great kitchen ideas as always. Your inspiration folder must be huge :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great week ~

I saw this kitchen in Southern Living and fell in love with it - gorgeous! Also, loved the recap of your Vegas get-away. Isn't it great to have some grown-up time? :)
ReplyDeleteHow gorgeous! We redid our kitchen last year, just by painting the walls and the cabinets, it made a huge difference. Love gray too. Our walls are Benjamin Moore Wedgewood Gray. Still need to redo the floors, would love hardwoods, and I would love new countertops, and perhaps a herringbone pattern subway tile backsplash... a girl can dream, right?
ReplyDeleteI'm wondering if I haven't received this issue yet or if I just haven't taken the time to read it?! I love this kitchen. I went back and forth, back and forth trying to decide if I wanted white cabinets or painted khaki/grey ones in my kitchen. I love the white, but I love the other option as well. It's not as common as white cabinets. I can't wait to see your final bedroom reveal!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the idea of using horizontal boards for a backsplash. I'm with you - I love white! But I really could get on board with gray cabinets. : )
