Christmas House Tour

Welcome.
For those of you regular readers, you might be getting
a wee bit tired of looking at Christmas pics of my house - this is the last of it. Promise.
For those of you visiting by way of the Nester's Christmas Tour of Homes, so glad you stopped by...
Photobucket
I remember stumbling on a holiday home tour 2 years ago when I first was discovering blogs.
I thought, who on earth are these people, and who goes around taking pictures of their home to show to strangers, and why on earth can't I stop looking.
And now look at me?!  So here goes...

At Christmas, I really like to keep things pretty traditional.
Which suits our me and our colonial farmhouse just fine.
I like lots of fresh greens both inside and out.
Photobucket
Preferably with a dusting of fresh snow.
Photobucket
i like red and green.

Photobucket
I like ribbons and berries.
Photobucket
And LOTS of reminders that this is a home with young children.

I like wreaths over mirrors.
Photobucket
And a real tree filled with sentimental ornaments, collected since childhood..
Photobucket
But most of all I like spending time at home,
celebrating the traditions we've made as a family, and the new ones we add each year.
Thanks so much for taking a moment to look.
If you want to see more...

I got a little crafty and talked about making stockings here and here.
Photobucket
I gave a little recap of how our village kicks off Christmas here.

And lastly, I savored an evening in front of the fire with my eldest child here.

Thanks for reading!

  1. Beautiful! Where do you like to purchase your frames and mats? I like what you have done over your stairs and am starting to get some together for something like that here. Everything looks gorgeous. Thanks for sharing!

  2. Thanks, Anonymous! Frames comes from Pottery Barn, Hobby Hobby & Michaels. All with mats included except the brown mats in the gold frames -- those were custom in "mocha" from Hobby Lobby.

  3. so pretty. i love how simplistic your decor is. I'm jealous of your photo wall. I wish I had more room to do one as large.

  6. What a fun idea...an online Christmas home tour! Beats a whole bunch of dirty feet tracking through your house!

Your home is so cozy and personable...and I still love reading that you live in a "village!"

    Have a happy week!

  10. Your home is beautiful! I love the traditional red and green...so festive. I see those gorgeous stockings hanging there. I think you need to open an etsy shop next year and sell those. I'd be first in line to buy a few! I love your kid's artwork in the window. What a sweet photo of your eldest son.

  12. Your home looks beautiful. The greens are so nice and your fence outside so welcoming. Love the art your kids made that is on your window. I take things like that and shove them right into the tree as ornaments. It really works. Especially if there is a little glitter!
