Laura Ashley Catalogue 1990's
Let me preface this post by saying I am not a designer. I've never taken a design course in my life, nor do I aspire to be one, but I love pretty homes. Not necessarily those that look straight out of a catalogue or those that could be a model home, but those that are filled books, pretty lamps, antiques amidst children's artwork, those that feel warm and cozy, those that have the perfect spot to enjoy a wonderful meal with a glass of wine and interesting conversation, those that don't look decorated, but lived in and evolve over time.
I can't tell you how much I miss the Laura Ashley catalogues.
I still return to my well worn copies from the 90's time and time again.

I have large and growing collection of design books & magazines and I get my daily fix of design blogs. So amidst my posts about my children and food, I'm going to sprinkle in some about homes and interiors. I'll share images I find inspiring, and if I ever have a semi clean home I'll snap some pictures of my own.

I worked for Laura Ashley for about a year in the 90s -- the fabrics were gorgeous. I wish that I still had my old catalogues.
ReplyDeleteOh, I was fortunate enuf to find an old catalog of Laura Ashley somewhere along the line when I was a librarian (during my break I'd try and scour local bookstores) in Virginia ~ I still have 1 or 2 of the design books, and I still drool over those fabulous fabrics ~ I agree, today's Laura Ashley isn't anywhere close!
